CRANBERRY SAUCE

This is a popular accompaniment to the Christmas turkey.
A pinch of ground cinnamon or cloves or a teaspoon of lemon
or orange zest are optional additions.

(Make: 6 Servings)

Ingredients

Water - 300 ml (10 fl oz)
Granulated sugar - 175g (6 oz)
Cranberries - 225g (8 oz)

Directions

Put the water and sugar into a saucepan. Heat slowly until the sugar dissolves.

Add the cranberries. Cook briskly for 2-3 minutes or until the skins pop open.
Reduce the heat. Simmer gently for 10 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
